Terms of use

These terms apply between you and Nestor Iriondo ("we") for the use of CV Tailor. By creating an account you accept them. They are always available at this address, and you can save or print them.
1. The service
CV Tailor stores your career facts, writes CVs tailored to job postings with the help of AI (Anthropic's Claude), searches public job boards and helps you track applications. The AI can make mistakes: check every CV before you send it. You are responsible for what you submit to employers. We don't arrange jobs and don't promise any result from an application.
2. Your account
You must be at least 16 years old; if you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission. Use a valid email address and keep your password to yourself. One account per person.
3. Your content
What you enter, and the CVs generated from it, stay yours. You allow us to store and process it only to provide the service, including sending the relevant parts to the AI provider, as described in the privacy policy. Don't upload content you have no right to use or other people's personal data without their permission, and don't use the service to deceive employers (for example with invented qualifications), to automate mass applications, or to put unusual load on it.
4. Free trial and Pro
Every email address gets one free trial with the limits shown in Settings. Pro is a subscription with the price, billing period and limits shown before you buy and in Settings; AI work beyond the limits waits for the next billing period.
Pro is sold by our reseller Polar Software Inc., which is the merchant of record and your contract partner for the purchase. Payment, invoices, taxes, refunds and your statutory right of withdrawal are governed by Polar's terms, shown at checkout. You can cancel at any time in Settings → Manage subscription; Pro then stays active until the end of the paid period. Deleting your account ends the subscription immediately.
5. Changes to the service
We may change the service for a valid reason, such as security, new legal requirements, a change by the AI provider or technical development, at no extra cost to you. If a change affects your access to or use of the service more than slightly, we tell you in good time beforehand by email, and you can then end the contract free of charge within 30 days of the change; a paid period you can no longer use as agreed is refunded pro rata. Changes to limits apply only from a new billing period.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the service running but can't promise it is always available, for example during maintenance or outages of our providers.
7. Ending the contract
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may end a free account with four weeks' notice by email. We may block or close accounts that seriously break these terms; if we close a paid account without such a reason, we refund any prepaid period that is left.
8. Liability
We are fully liable for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are liable only for breaching an obligation essential to the contract, and then only for the typical, foreseeable damage. Otherwise our liability is excluded.
9. Changes to these terms
If we want to change these terms, we send you the new version by email at least four weeks before it takes effect and ask for your agreement. If you don't agree, the current terms continue to apply, and both sides may end the contract with the notice in section 7 (you at any time).
10. Law and disputes
German law applies; mandatory consumer protection in your country of residence remains unaffected. These terms are available in English and German. We are not obliged and not willing to take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board.
